Wecome to Wide Open Studios. We are a boutique image agency specializing in travel, lifestyle, culture, concert and envrionmental issues. We work on one simple premise – It is better to create a picture inside a camera rather than on a computer – We believe the world is a place to celebrate and we want to show you both its natural beauty and the dynamic and active ways you can live in it.

Our founders and chief photographers, Joseph David and Mark Spowart are not only passionate shooters, they are committed to providing images that are an honest representation of the world around us.

Mark Spowart

Mark lives in Southwestern Ontario, and spends his days photographing life and living in the region. His work has been widely published in The Glode and Mail, CNW, The Guardian UK, National Post, The Times, Metro London, Sports Illustrated.com, Macleans, CNN.com, CBC.ca, and MSN.com.

His Passion for photography began early in life and studied photography from elementary school right through to college where he studied photojournalism. Today his combines client work, personal projects, stock work, video and in 2017 he will combine all of this as he travels around North America in his 29′ Airstream Sovereign.

 

   

                             

Joseph David

Joseph David is a commercial and fine art photographer who studied at Humber College of Applied Arts, in Toronto, Canada. Over his career he has photographed professionally in North America and Europe.

His appetite to capture uncommon beauty creates the fevered curiosity distinct to his images.

“When shooting I am constantly reminded that chance and change are always around us.

I like my photographs to show people the intimate idiosyncrasies that are often obscured in todays frantic modern lifestyle.”

Joseph’s wanderlust has lead him to travel in 19 countries while living in Europe for 5 years.

His work can be seen in such publications as the Toronto Star, Canadian Living Magazine, Lifestyle Magazine, Arena Pictures, Applied Arts and JPG Magazine.
